POEM - Drop Dead She Said
The worst thing mother ever said
Was drop dead, you said
A powerful command
A hateful wish
A fateful wish
Directed not at you, you're certain
But, it cut the same, you said
And hurt just as much
Had it been flung your way
Because the target and the source
Held so much sway
Drop dead she said
Did she really
Did she mean it
Hard to believe
Such a powerful command
Someone could actually say
Flung toward anybody's way
How hateful
How fateful
What if it worked
Would she regret
Drop dead you said
Did you really
Did you mean it
Your powerful command
Your painful wish
You're hateful
You're fateful
